A blog detailing our collection of Peter Powell kites, and chronicling our flying of these kites. Plus a bit of PP kite history thrown in. Our collection to date stands at 77 kites and can be seen here. I am keen to expand the collection, so if you have an old Peter Powell kite, whether made in the UK or the US, gathering dust and looking for a new home, why not get in touch? Depending on the kite (does it bring something new or different to my collection?), its condition (is it flyable? how much TLC does it need?), and the price you ask (+ shipping if from outside the UK), we may well be able to do a deal.

Happy 10th blog-birthday!

I started this blog on my Peter Powell kites and other 'things Peter Powell' on February 1, 2016, which means today I'm celebrating the 10th blog-birthday!

In those 10 years, I've written 116 blog posts (117 if you count this one), mostly about the Peter Powell kites that I managed to add to the collection (while considering kites from the Caribbean Kite Company as part of the family). It's been nearly two year since I last added a blog post. That's partly due to health issues (if you know, you know), but mostly because I simply haven't come across any PP kites, old or new, that added something to the collection and were thus worthwhile getting.

And talking kites, the collection now stands at 77 Peter Powell kites (where I count stacks as one kite, independent of the number of sails in the stack): 26 original (Mk I and II) Peter Powell kites, 19 from the American arm of Peter Powell Kites, 12 Caribbean Kite Company kites, and 20 new Mk III kites.

Here they all are (kites that were bought as a pair/group and will always be flown as such are in one picture, and the sequence is not in the order in which they were obtained, but, rather, Mk I/II kites first, then American kites, and Mk III kites last).

I can't imagine that the collection will remain at 77 ... If nothing else, I'm sure Paul and Mark will bring out something 'new' sooner or later.
